As a part of International Women’s Day Celebration on 8 March 2024, Women's Welfare  Committee (WWC) and NSS Unit of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Technical  Campus, Kilimanoor together with Pazhayakunnummel Gramapanchayath organized an  Expert talk and Awareness Session on “WOMEN AND HEALTH” on 7th March 2024  for women. at Sri Raja Ravi Varma Community Hall, Pazhayakunnummel Gramapanchayath  from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The function started with an invocation to God. The dignitaries were welcomed by Dr.  Jayarenjini. N Head of the Department Electronics and Communication Engineering  and Chairperson of Women’s Welfare Committee (WWC) of VAST TC. Smt. S. V.  Sheeba Vice President, Pazhayakunnummel Gramapanchayath presided over the  function. Dr. N. Sreedhar, Former Director of Health Service, Kerala State inaugurated  the function and delivered the inaugural address. Dr. K. M. Chandini Devi, Gynaecologist,  Former Deputy Director, Kerala Health Services delivered the keynote address. She  addressed the faculty members and student volunteers of NSS along with the women of  Pazhayakunnumel Gramapanchayath. Dr. Chandini Devi talked regarding the health issues,  lifestyle diseases and cervical cancer precautions among women. Brig. K. S. Shaji, Director  VAST TC, Ms. Anitha Vijayan, Trustee Coordinator, VAST TC, Sri. Krishnakumar S.  S Assistant Secretary Pazhyakunnummel Gramapanchayath delivered the felicitation. Ms.  Abha M. L, Assistant Programme Officer, NSS VAST TC and Assistant Professor  Department Electronics and Communication Engineering extended Vote of thanks to all.

The keynote address session was very informative and women and students and faculty  members raised their concerns regarding health which were addressed by the speaker. A  memento was handed over to the Chief Guests as a token of gratitude.
